Throughout our shared history, dogs and humans have co-evolved to become true partners. Because of my relationships with the dogs in my life, I am better equipped to adapt proactively in a changing world. Having committed to the canine-inspired lifestyle, dogs help me stay active, fit, happy and healthy! As one who trains service dogs, runs with dogs, and has survived devastating grief with dogs by my side, my life's work it to progress this healing movement!

DUKE: The Swimming Dog
I am so proud of my buddy, Duke. Duke has been swimming at The Swimming Dog in Petaluma, CA, twice weekly for the last six weeks, in order to shed some pounds and become a healthier, more active boy. He has lost a few pounds, had as much fun as any dog could, and is charged with a new energy reminiscent of puppyhood. I love this dog so much, and am so proud of the progress he has made!

A Frisky Fitness Transformation
This was Jeff's and my project for our Social Therapy Dog class at Bergin U., Spring semester, 2013. We had to create a hypothetical organization or business in which dogs help people; my business idea (and in some ways, my actual current business model) is to help people and dogs lose weight together through fun and challenging outdoor activities.

A Boy and his Destined Dog
Yesterday, we were blessed to meet this amazing young man and his parents, and interview (Kevin) to determine whether or not he'd be a good candidate for a service dog. Today, I was the lucky one to call and tell his mom that we voted a unanimous YES! And that, as of today, he is officially on Bergin's waiting list!
